
The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) released its all-conference softball teams today and Emma Verge earned first team honors. Verge is the first Charger to garner first team accolades since Tana Colt in 2010. Verge led the Chargers with a .383 batting average and 25 RBI in 2013. She also produced 36 hits, 16 runs and seven doubles. Laura Sosa and Deanna Ayala earned second team honors. Sosa hit .381 with a team-best 40 hits. She also had 20 runs, 15 RBI and seven doubles. Ayala paced the program with 10 doubles and also finished the season with a .316 batting average, 30 hits, 15 RBI and nine runs. Three other Chargers, Bailey Hendrix, Ashley Pearse and Celena Vasquez were honorable mention selections.
