        <title>[Football] Football Media Day Approaching</title>

        <description>Briar Cliff will hold its 2008 football media day, at 3:30 p.m., Aug. 25, at Hoover Middle School. The 2008 Charger Football squad and its coaching staff will be present at that time to answer questions and provide an outlook on the upcoming season. The team will begin practice at 4 p.m. All media outlets are invited to attend.</description>

        <description>&lt;DIV&gt;Today, we are in Lincoln, Nebraska for the 2008 GPAC Football Media Day, which is being held at the Cornhusker Marriott. Head Coach Tom Rethman, assistants Kyle Langhoff and Floyd Webb as well as myself made the two hour and 15 minute trek.&amp;nbsp; Today is also the opening day of fall practice for the University of Nebraska, so the general consensus is that the media turnout could be thin.&lt;/DIV&gt;</description>

        <description>Heather Hupke has been named the 2008 NAIA Region III Softball Coach of the Year.&amp;nbsp; A week ago, she was tabbed the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Softball Coach of the Year.&amp;nbsp; Hupke guided the Chargers to a fifth place finish in the conference&amp;nbsp;with a GPAC record of 15-9.&amp;nbsp; Overall, the Chargers were 19-21.&amp;nbsp; In 10 seasons as the Chargers' mentor, Hupke led the&amp;nbsp;team to a record of 198-265.&amp;nbsp;</description>

        <description>The BCU baseball season came to close with a 6-3 loss to Northwestern in the NAIA Region III Baseball Tournament, in Mayville, N.D.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;Red Raider ace Mihai Burlea pitched six scoreless&amp;nbsp;innings and recorded eight strikeouts as the&amp;nbsp;Chargers managed just seven hits in the contest.&amp;nbsp; Matt Lee was the only Charger to register multiple hits in the game as he went 2-4 with a run.&amp;nbsp; Eric Fox pitched four innings and&amp;nbsp;surrendered two runs in the loss.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;</description>
