Michelle Schaper is in her third year as the head coach of the BCU softball program.  Schaper has helped the Chargers compile a 39-39 record the past two seasons.  Schaper came to Briar Cliff from William Woods University, where she has served as an assistant coach since 2005. During her three seasons as an assistant coach, the Owls produced a mark of 110-49 with a national tournament berth in 2006. Schaper joined the Owls' coaching staff after a four-year playing career at William Woods. She finished her career with 235 hits, 169 runs, 43 doubles, 18 homeruns, 164 RBI and a batting average of .351. Schaper was a four-time all-conference selection and a three-time all-region choice. In 2003, she earned NAIA All-America second team honors. She helped the Owls to a four-year record of 148-82 and into NAIA Tournament pool play, senior year. She earned a bachelor's of science degree in athletic training from William Woods in 2005 and recently attained her master's of education degree in athletic administration and activities.

Aside from assisting at the college level, Schaper has also served as the head softball coach at North Callaway High School for the past two seasons. Her squads produced a two-year record of 45-7 and finished second at the 2007 Missouri 3A State Softball Championships.
