Mike Power - Head Coach
Mike Power is in his third consecutive and ninth overall season as the Briar Cliff women's head basketball coach.  Since his return in 2006, Power has guided the Chargers to a 20-42 mark. In his eight seasons with with the Chargers, he had compiled an overall record of 147-115.
In his first stint as Briar Cliff's head coach from 1992-1998, Power guided the Charger women's basketball program to a 127-73 record and three consecutive NAIA Division II National Tournament appearances. In 1996, Power led the Chargers to Briar Cliff's first-ever NAIA National Tournament appearance.  The following year, the women's basketball team produced an undefeated (34-0) regular season, a school-record 37 wins, and a second-straight NAIA National Tournament appearance. The Chargers opened the 1997-98 season as the No. 1 team in the NAIA and held that spot for the majority of the season.  They finished that season with another national tournament berth and a 31-4 record.  Power's Chargers still hold many school and national records, including steals in a season and points (per game and average per season). His 147 career wins at Briar Cliff are the most by any women's coach in school history.

A native of Bismark, N.D., Power holds a bachelor's degree in history and a master's degree in education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL), Lincoln, Neb. During and after his time at UNL, he was assistant girls' basketball coach at Pius X High School and head women's basketball coach at Nebraska Wesleyan University, Lincoln, Neb., where he produced a 30-45 record.
