Emily Mogensen is in her second year as an assistant coach with the Briar Cliff volleyball program.  Mogensen came to Briar Cliff after two years as the head volleyball coach at Sioux City North High School.  Prior to that, she served as an assistant coach at North from 2002 until 2005, helping the Stars reach the state tournament in 2004. 

The 2002 Briar Cliff graduate was a three-year starter for the Chargers and a four-year letterwinner.  As a senior, the team captain was named an NAIA All-America Scholar-Athlete and the squad's best defensive player.  Following her graduation from Briar Cliff, the elementary education major subbed in the Sioux City School District for two years.  She then taught full-time at Leeds Elementary.   

The Sioux City native graduated from North High school in 1998.  While at North, Mogensen played volleyball, soccer, basketball and track.  She was also involved in drill team and band. 

Aside from coaching at Briar Cliff, Mogensen teaches at Unity Elementary.  Mogensen and her husband, Sam, have two children; Hannah and Joshua.
