BRIAR CLIFF SIGNS GOLF STANDOUT FROM MASSACHUSETTS
(March 26, 2008) Chris Wolak, a senior from Hopkinton, Mass. has signed a letter of intent to play golf at Briar Cliff University next fall.
"I'm very excited to have Chris join our squad next season," said Briar Cliff coach Brian Eben. "He has played in numerous tournaments sponsored by the FCWT (Future Collegians World Tour), AJGA (American Junior Golf Association) and NEPGA (New England Section of the PGA). He has proven himself to be a quality player."
Wolak comes to Briar Cliff from a Hopkinton High School squad which has qualified for state in each of the past four years. The team won the state title in 2004. They finished fifth in 2005, fourth in 2006 and second in 2007. Wolak, who worked with swing coach Ken Chrzan from Juniper Hills Country Club, earned numerous team honors over the past few years including "Most Improved Player" in 2006, TVL All-Star in 2006 and 2007, MVP and TVL Coaches' Award in 2007. The team's co-captain currently boasts a 37.2 league scoring average.
The son of Bill and Terry Wolak plans to major in business at Briar Cliff.
