BRIAR CLIFF SIGNS NORTH DAKOTA CROSS COUNTRY/TRACK STANDOUT

(April 3, 2008) -- Briar Cliff University cross country and track coach Nate Treinen has announced that Taylor Braunberger, from Dickinson, N.D., has signed a letter of intent to run for the Chargers next year.
 
"We are very excited to have Taylor join our programs," said Treinen. "She has had a very successful high school career and I am confident that she will have continued success at Briar Cliff."
 

The 5-2 Braunberger earned 12 varsity letters for the Titans of Trinity High School (six in track, five in cross country and one in basketball). She was a four-time North Dakota all-state cross country selection and a two-time team captain. Her cross country team won a state title when Braunberger was a freshman. As a sophomore, Braunberger finished fourth at state. She is also on her way to being a four-time state track qualifier in the 3200m. She is a three-time state placer in the event. Her 3200m relay also placed at the state meet, sophomore year.

Aside from athletics, she achieved a spot on the highest honor roll and is an active member of the National Honor Society. The daughter of Brad and Kody Braunberger of Dickinson, N.D. plans to major in biology and chemistry at Briar Cliff. Brad Braunberger was a two-time national steeplechase champion at Jamestown College.
