BRIAR CLIFF BASKETBALL LANDS MINNESOTA D-II TRANSFER

(March 24, 2008) -- Briar Cliff University women's basketball coach Mike Power has announced that Southwest Minnesota State University sophomore Liz Grider will transfer to Briar Cliff for the 2008-09 academic year.
 
"Liz will be a great addition to our program," said Power. "She will bring a lot of offensive power to our team."
 
The 5-11 guard averaged 9.8 ppg and was the Mustangs' second-leading scorer this past season. She started 22 of the team's 28 games and shot 35 percent from the field. She averaged 3.4 rpg and totaled 31 three-pointers, 29 assists, 29 steals and 13 blocked shots. As a freshman, she played in and started only seven games before missing the rest of the season with injury. She averaged 11.1 ppg, 3.0 rpg and 2.0 apg. She shot 46.8 percent from the field as a freshman. In high school, the Carver, Minn. native was a four-year letterwinner for the Hawks of Chaska High School. The three-time All-Lake Conference selection averaged 14.0 ppg, 2.0 rpg and 2.0 apg as a senior.
 
The daughter of David and Lorie Grider and Mike and Stacy Schreiner plans to major in sports management at Briar Cliff.
