The Briar Cliff University men's basketball program is pleased to announce that Tim Loan who is from Iowa City, Iowa, has signed a letter of intent to play for BCU for the 2008-2009 academic year. Coach Todd Barry said, "Tim had a great high school career and has a big upside. With hard work he'll have an excellent college career too."
As a junior, Loan earned a spot on the first team all-conference, first team all-district, and third team all-state. As a senior, he was on the first team all-conference, all-district, and all-state, and also appeared in an all star game. He averaged 19.1 ppg and 9.0 rpg and shot 60 percent from the field and 66 percent from the line as a senior.
Outside of basketball, Loan participates in baseball, cross country and track. He has a secure spot on the honor roll and received an academic all-district award.
The son of Bruce and Lynn Loan and plans to major in business at Briar Cliff University.
