West Sioux's Jerod Reinking has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Briar Cliff University, next year.

Reinking averaged 17.0 ppg and 7.2 rpg for the Falcons of West Sioux this past season. The 6-6 post ended his career with 910 points. He is sixth on the Falcons' all-time scoring chart, fifth all-time in rebounds and first in blocked shots. As a senior, he earned first team all-district and all-conference and second team all-Northwest Iowa Review. He was a second team all-conference selection as a junior and an honorable mention choice and the team's most improved player as a sophomore.

"We are pleased to have Jerod join the program," said Briar Cliff head men's basketball coach Todd Barry. "He's long and he has a great shooting touch. With hard work, he will continue to get better."

Aside from basketball, Reinking also competed in baseball and golf. The honor roll member was active in Quiz Bowl and National Honor Society. The son of Rick and Sherri Reinking of Hawarden, Iowa plans to major in pre-pharmacy at BCU.
