Briar Cliff wrestling coach Joe Privitere has announced that Aaron Largey, of Camarillo, Calif., has signed a letter of intent to wrestle at Briar Cliff, next fall.
 
"Aaron was the first recruit to sign with us this season," said Privitere. "He represents all the characteristics we are looking for in a young man joining our team. He excels in the classroom and on the mat and we look forward to him bringing his talents to Briar Cliff."
 
Largey was a four-time letterwinner in wrestling for the Spartans of Rio Mesa High School. Through his first three years with the Spartans, the 5-11 Largey produced a combined record of 95-31. The two-time team captain placed second in the Pacific View League as both a sophomore and a junior. He produced a 43-14 record and finished seventh at the USA Wrestling Folkstyle Frosh/Soph State Tournament as a sophomore. During the following season, he went 26-4 and placed seventh at the SCWAY Folkstyle Junior State Tournament and also wrestled for the Tri-County Wrestling Team. After wrestling at 125 as a freshman, 140 as a sophomore and 145 as a junior, Largey now competes at 152.
 
Aside from athletics, Largey was a three-time scholar athlete and a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and Relay for Life. During his free time, he participates in Tae Kwon Do where he is a Third Degree Black Belt and Jui Jitsu where he is a Blue Belt. The son of Bill and Debbie Largey plans to major in business or physical therapy at Briar Cliff.
