Marian Pesky - Head Coach - 2nd Season
Marian Pesky is in her fifth season as the head coach of the BCU women's golf program. Coach Pesky and her team are currently ranked fifth in the GPAC. In 1969, Pesky came to Briar Cliff, after a graduate assistantship with Central Missouri State University. She earned her B.S. and M.S. in physical education from Central Missouri University and completed her graduate work from the University of Iowa and the University of South Dakota.
Coach Pesky has been instrumental in getting women's athletics off the ground for the Chargers. She served as the school's first coach in basketball, softball, tennis and volleyball. She coached basketball for six years, compiling an 18-45 record. Coach Pesky served as tennis coach for two years and as softball coach (44-37) for nine seasons. She also coached volleyball from 1969 through 1993, compiling a 634-283 record. In 1998, she was inducted into the Briar Cliff Athletic Hall of Fame.
In addition, Pesky is the athletics department Senior Women's Administrator. She is also a full time Assistant professor in the Health, Physical Education, and Recreation Department.
Aside from BCU golf, Pesky is a volunteer for Woodbury County First Tee, a Professional Golf Association Youth Program. She also participates in the women's golf league at Two Rivers Golf Course in Sioux City.
Pesky and her husband Mike have three daughters Laura (Indiana with one son Riley), Shannon (Sioux City, Iowa, married to Ben Beller with a daughter Avery and a son Beckett), Nicole (Omaha, Nebraska
)and one son (Sioux City, Iowa, B.J.).
