Mike Power - Head Coach
Mike Power is in his fifth consecutive and 11th overall season as the head coach of the Briar Cliff women's basketball program. Power has led the Chargers to an overall record of 188-141 and four NAIA National Tournament appearances. His teams have advanced to the NAIA Fab Four twice, including last season.
In his first stint as Briar Cliff's head coach from 1992-1998, Power guided the Charger women's basketball program to a 127-73 record and three consecutive NAIA Division II National Tournament appearances. In 1996, Power led the Chargers to Briar Cliff's first-ever NAIA National Tournament appearance.  The following year, the women's basketball team produced an undefeated (34-0) regular season, a school-record 37 wins, and a second-straight NAIA National Tournament appearance. The Chargers opened the 1997-98 season as the No. 1 team in the nation and held that spot for the majority of the season.  They finished that season with another national tournament berth and a 31-4 record.  Power's Chargers still hold many school and national records, including steals in a season and points (per game and average per season). His 188 career wins at Briar Cliff are the most by any women's coach in school history.
Power's coaching portfolio also includes eight seasons at the NCAA Division II level, with head coaching stops at Metro State College of Denver, Colo.; Bemidji State University, Minn.; and Southwest Minnesota State University, Marshall, Minn.
A native of Bismark, N.D., Power holds a bachelor's degree in history and a master's degree in education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL), Lincoln, Neb. During and after his time at UNL, he was assistant girls' basketball coach at Pius X High School and head women's basketball coach at Nebraska Wesleyan University, Lincoln, Neb., where he produced a 30-45 record.

Aside from coaching basketball, Power also serves as the director of the Briar Cliff Athletic Association.

Christine Schroeder Image
Christine Schroeder - Associate Head Coach
Christine Schroeder is in her fourth year as an assistant with the Charger basketball program. Schroeder (Mohni) is a 1998 Briar Cliff graduate and was a member of the women's basketball team from 1994-1998.
 
Following graduation, she taught and coached girls' basketball in Williamsburg, Iowa for one year, before she moved to Europe. While in England, Schroderer joined the RAF Mildenhall women's basketball team which represented an air base in the United States Air Force, European Command. She competed in back-to-back USAFE championships and was twice voted to the all-USAFE team.  During the division chapionship in Germany, she was voted the USAFE MVP. Upon returning to the U.S., Schroeder worked for the federal government in a social science and education capacity. She holds a master's degree in human relations from the University of Oklahoma, Norman, Okla., and is preparing to begin her Ph.D. in psychology.
Aside from coaching, Schroeder is also an instructor at Briar Cliff.  Schroeder and her husband Neil, have two sons, Jackson, 9, Anderson, 5; and a daughter Ava, 4.
Mike Davis - Assistant Coach
Mike Davis is in his 8th year as an assistant coach for another season with the BCU women's basketball program. He was an assistant coach from 1992-1996 and returned to the bench in 2008. Davis has coached basketball and club soocer where he won a state championship. Davis played basketball at Southwestern Community College. After graduating in 1976, he transferred to Briar Cliff where he continued his education and played basketball for Ray Nacke. Davis graduated from Briar Cliff in 1978 with a bachelor's degree in psychology. At the time Davis began working as a salesman for Palmer Candy and is now Palmer's transportation manager. Davis has three children; Lindsay, 28, a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, Scott, 28, a graduate of the University of Montana, and Molly, 19, a sophomore at the University of Florida.
 
Angie Hoffman - Assistant Coach
Angie (Hauber) Hoffman is in her first year as an assistant coach witht he Briar Cliff women's basketball program. The Arizona native has spent the majority of her basketball career in Chandler, Arizona. Hoffman led the Seton Catholic High School Sentinel's to a 2A State Championship in 1997. After being selected to play on the Arizona All-Star team, she continued her prep career with the Arizona Elite AAU Basketball Club. Hoffman played one yare at Mesa Community College and one year at Iowa Lakes Community College. Aside from coaching, Hoffman is a kindergarten teacher in the Sergeant Bluff-Luton Community School District and resides in Sioux Cith with her husband Greg and their two sons; Jacob and Ryan. Her sister, Heidi (Hauber) Schneider, played basketball at Briar Cliff from 1999-2003
Tracie Derochie - JV Coach
Tracie Derochie is in her first year as an assistant with the Briar Cliff women's basketball program.  Most recently, she spent two years (1998-2000) as an assistant coach at the University of Sioux Falls.  Prior to that, she coached for two years at South Dakota State University, where she served an assistant softball coach and interim head coach while working on her graduate degree.  The 1993 Briar Cliff graduate played both basketball and softball for the Chargers.  She also helped coach softball and basketball at Bishop Heelan Catholic High School, while earning her under graduate degree.  Derochie and her husband, Thad, have two children, Megan and Maddy.  They reside in Jefferson, S.D.

Allison Dynes - Student Assistant

AT BC: In first year as a student assistant coach with the Charger basketball program...played for the Chargers a season ago.

 
HS: Eight-time letterwinner for the Bravettes of Annawan High School (four in basketball, and two each in volleyball and track). She finished her high school career as Annawan's all-time leading scorer with 1,624 points. She also owns the school's single season scoring record after knocking down 587 points. As a senior, she averaged 15.8 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 6.1 apg and 2.3 spg. She was named her team's MVP after leading the team in scoring, assists and free throw percentage. She was named fourth team all-state by the IBCA, special mention all-state by the Champaign News Gazetteand honorable mention all-state by the Associated Press. She alsoearned all-area player of the year and pacesetter awards from the Moline Dispatch. She was a three-time first team all-conference selection and a first team Quad City Times All-Area as a senior.
