Marian Pesky - Head Coach

Marian Pesky is in her second year as Briar Cliff's women's golf coach.

 
Briar Cliff has been a part of Pesky's life since the fall of 1969. That is when she began teaching at Briar Cliff, fresh out of Central Missouri State University, where she earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees. Pesky was instrumental in the inception of women's athletics at Briar Cliff. She served as the school's first coach in basketball, softball, tennis and volleyball. She coached basketball for six years, compiling an 18-45 record. She served as the tennis coach for two years and the softball coach (44-37) for nine seasons. It was in volleyball where Pesky thrived. She coached the Chargers from 1969 through 1993, compiling a 634-283 record and numerous coaching honors and awards. In 1998, she was inducted into the Briar Cliff Athletic Hall of Fame.
 
Aside from teaching and now coaching, Pesky serves as the Director of Briar Cliff's Character Center and also coordinates first year advising and new student orientations. Pesky and her husband Mike, have been married for 31 years. They have four grown children and one grandchild.

AT BC: In her first year as a student manager...was a two-year member of the BCU Women's Golf Program...averaged 120.67 in fall of 2007.
HS:  Earned three varsity letters in golf for the Warriors of Sgt. Bluff-Luton...team captain, senior year..honor roll member...named to Who's Who Among American High School students.

PERSONAL: Daughter of Kristi Huffman... majoring in biology and chemistry.
