Nabil Sorathia - Head Coach - 3rd Season
Nabil Sorathia is in his first year as the women's tennis coach at Briar Cliff University.  Sorathia comes to Briar Cliff following a year as an assistant coach at Morningside College, where he had a very successful collegiate career.  The 2008 Morningside graduate spent four years playing both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles.  He was a three-time first team all-conference singles player and a two-time first team all-conference doubles player.  He set the school record for best singles record in a season when he went 7-1 in 2007.  He also owns a share of the school's career doubles wins record with 27.

Sorathia prepped at Sioux City North High School, playing No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles all for years for the Stars.  He finished his high school career with a singles record of 62-19 and twice placed in the "Top 8" at the Class 2A State Tennis Tournament. He also climbed to No. 1 in 2000 in the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Iowa District (14 & unders).  The following year, he was listed No. 1 in the 16 and under age divsion of the USTA Iowa District.
 

Sorathia began teaching private and group tennis lessons in 2002, at the age of 16.  Three years later, he became a certified tennis instructor by the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR).
