Joe Privitere - Head Coach
 
Joe Privitere is in his first year as the head wrestling coach at Briar Cliff.  He came to Briar Cliff after serving as the head assistant coach at NCAA Div. I Davidson College for three years. Prior to that, Privitere was an assistant coach at The Citadel Military College of South Carolina, in Charleston, S.C., from 2005 until 2007.
 
Out of high school, Privitere wrestled at the State University of New York at Binghamton, in Vestal, New York. The NCAA Div. II All-American was a three-year team captain for the Bearcats. The Johnson City, N.Y. native and two-time all-conference selection finished his illustrious career second on the school's all-time win chart and having set the single-season win record with 38.
 
In addition to his college experience, Privitere was also the 1998 High School National Champion, 1999 FILA Greco All-American, 2000 FILA Greco World Team Trial Champion and the 2000 FILA Greco World Silver Medalist.
 
He earned his bachelor's degree in human development and education from Binghamton in 2003. He then went on to earn his master's degree in health, exercise and sports science from the Citadel in 2007 while serving as an assistant with the Bulldog wrestling program.
 
Over the years, Privitere, who holds a USAW Bronze-Level Certification, has also been involved in numerous wrestling camps and clinics.  Aside from coaching, Privitere will work in the Institutional Advancement office at Briar Cliff.
 
Privitere took over the program's lead from Damon Clayborne, who served as the part-time head coach for six years. Privitere is the program's fifth head coach since Briar Cliff reinstated the sport in 1997.  The 2010-11 season will be program's 14th consecutive year and 18th overall season.

Damon Clayborne - Associate Head Coach
Damon Clayborne is in his seventh year working within the Briar Cliff wrestling program.  This season, Clayborne will serve as the team's associate head coach.  He came to Briar Cliff after serving as an assistant wrestling coach at West High School for three years.
 
He founded the Team Predators Wrestling Club in the winter of 2005 and has coached within the club since. He also co-founded the Wolverine Wildcats Wrestling Club in the winter of 2002.
 
The 2000 Briar Cliff graduate attended the University of Nebraska-Omaha (UNO) and Westmar before coming to Briar Cliff. He was a member of UNO's, Westmar's and Briar Cliff's wrestling programs.
 
Aside from coaching at Briar Cliff, the Sioux City native currently teaches ESL at North Middle School in Sioux City. Clayborne, his wife Tiffany, and their three sons (Deion, Kobe and Kason) reside in Sioux City.
 
Curt Langley - Assistant Coach
Curt Langley is in his third year as an assistant with the Charger wrestling program.  He came to BCU after serving as an assistant coach at Heelan High School for one year. He also coached for 13 years within the Sergeant Bluff Saints Wrestling Club. The 1987 Heelan graduate was a walk-on at Arizona State University.
 
Langley and his three sons, Jordan, Hunter and Shyler, reside in Sioux City.
