2008-09 Wrestling Coaches
Damon Clayborne - Head Coach
Damon Clayborne is in his fourth year as the Chargers' Head Wrestling Coach. He served as an assistant wrestling coach at West High School for the 2001 and 2002 seasons, after serving as a volunteer coach for one season. He founded the Team Predators Wrestling Club in the winter of 2005 and has coached within the club since. He co-founded the Wolverine Wildcats Wrestling Club in the winter of 2002 and has coached within the program ever since. The North High graduate attended the University of Nebraska-Omaha (UNO) and Westmar before coming to Briar Cliff. He was a member of UNO's, Westmar's and Briar Cliff's wrestling programs.

The 2000 Briar Cliff graduate currently teaches ESL at North Middle School in Sioux City, a position he will continue to hold in conjunction with the BCU wrestling position

Mark Caputo - Assistant Coach

Mark Caputo is in his fourth year as an assistant coach with the Charger Wrestling Program.

Caputo is a 1975 graduate of Wartburg College in Waverly, IA and was a two-time national qualifier for the Knights. Caputo has been coach wrestling for over 25 years in Iowa, Missouri, and Minnesota. Caputo has spent most of his career at North High where he has been coaching for 18 years. He was named Northwest Iowa 3A Coach-of-the-Year in 1990 and again in 2000. Caputo is currently employed at North High School where he is a teacher.
