Nate Treinen Image
Nate Treinen - Head Coach - 7th Season

Treinen is in his seventh year as head men's and women's track and cross country coach. Prior to that, he served as an assistant coach within the program for two and a half years. He also served as Briar Cliff's interim cross country and track coach from Jan. 1-May 17, 2004.

Treinen, a 2003 BCU graduate, was a three-year member of the BCU Track team and still holds school records in the 4x100, 4x200 and sprint medley relays. Treinen is the third member of his family to graduate from Briar Cliff.

He was a 1999 graduate of Remsen St. Mary's and a four-year track letterwinner for the Hawks. His medley relay team garnered all-state honors after second and third place state meet finishes.
 
Treinen, his wife, Kristin, and daughter, Paige, reside in Sioux City.
Greg Hoffman - Assistant Coach - 3rd Season
Greg Hoffman is in his third year as an assistant with the Briar Cliff track program.  He primarily assists with the BCU throws team.
 
Aside from coaching collegiately, Hoffman has also coached at the high school level, at Desert Vista High School in Phoenix, Arizona.  He coached a pair of state champions in his time at Desert Vista; one each in discus and shot put.
 
Hoffman prepped at Estherville-Lincoln Central, where he qualified for state in the discus in 1998.  In 1999, he competed at both the Drake Relays and state competitions in both the discus and shot put.  He went on to letter in football at South Dakota State University from 1999-2001.   
 

Hoffman and his wife, Angela, reside in Sioux City with their two boys; Jacob and Ryan.

Reggie Miller Image
Reggie Miller - Assistant Coach - 1st Season
Reggie Miller is in his first year as an assistant with the Briar Cliff cross country and track programs.  Miller comes to Briar Cliff from Dordt College, where he served as the assistant athletic trainer.  Miller, a Remsen, Iowa native, was a mult-sport athlete at St. Mary's High School.  He went on to graduate from Simpson College in 2004, with a degree in athletic training.  While there, Miller was a member of the Simpson Cross Country team.
 
He became a Certified Athletic Trainer, licensed in Iowa, in 2005 and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist in 2007.  He earned a master's degree in exercise science from Wayne State College in 2008.
Billy Mousel - Assistant Coach - 3rd Season
Billy Mousel is in his third year as an assistant coach with the BCU track program and will primarily work with the Chargers' sprinters.
 
Mousel, a 2009 Briar Cliff graduate, earned a degree in sports management.  During his time at Briar Cliff, Mousel was a member of Briar Cliff's track and football programs.

Stephan Pearson - Assistant Coach - 11th Season
Gil Ridenour Image
Gil Ridenour - Assistant Coach - 3rd Season
Gil Ridenour is in his third year as an assistant coach with the Briar Cliff track program.  He works primarily with the Chargers' jumpers.
 
Ridenour came to Briar Cliff after earning his Masters' degree in theology from Creighton University, in 2009. Prior to that, Ridenour attended Iowa State University, earning bachelor degrees in both religious studies and history. Ridenour competed in the high jump for the Cyclones of ISU and was a two-time scholar-athlete.
 
Ridenour has coached basketball and track previously at high school and elementary levels in his hometown of Council Bluffs, Iowa.  Aside from coaching, Ridenour serves as Briar Cliff's Associate Campus Minister.
Andy Glass Image
Andy Glass - Graduate Assistant - 1st Season
Andy Glass is in his first year as a graduate assistant with the Briar Cliff track program.  While assisting with all facets of the program, Glass will work primarily with the BCU throws team.
 
Glass came to Briar Cliff after serving as a volunteer assistant coach at Southeast Missouri State University, after completing his track and field career.  As a Redhawk, Glass was a conference champion in the shotput and a 10-time all-Ohio Valley Conference selection.  He was a member of Southeast's 2006 and 2008 conference championship teams.  Glass prepped at Jackson High School, where the two-sport all-state selection was the school's Outstanding Athlete of the Year. 
 
Glass, a native of Jackson, Mo., resides in Sioux City.
