Briar Cliff held its 2008 media day, today, at the Newman Flanagan Center on the institution's campus.  The Chargers, who went 22-11 last year, were recently picked fifth in the 2008 GPAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.  The Chargers will depart tomorrow morning for a season-opening trip to South Padre Island, Texas.   The Chargers will play Our Lady of the Lake and Olivet Nazarene universities on friday and Malone College and Oklahoma City University on saturday.  The Chargers will play Midland Lutheran College, at 7:30 p.m., Sept. 3, in their 2008 home-opener.
