The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) held its annual football media day, today, in Lincoln, Nebraska.  The event, which featured talks by all 12 of the league's head coaches, concluded with the release of the 2008 GPAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.  The Chargers of first year head coach Tom Rethman checked in at No. 11. 
Sioux Falls took the top spot after winning the loop a season ago.  Sioux Falls has won 63 of its last 64 conference games.  Morningside was second, while Northwestern was third.  Nebraska Wesleyan came in at fourth, while Hastings was fifth.  The Bulldogs of Concordia were sixth, while Doane was seventh and Dakota Wesleyan was eighth.  Dana was ninth, followed by Midland Lutheran, Briar Cliff and Dordt. 
The Chargers will open the 2008 season with a non-conference road game at Grand View, Aug. 30.  Their home-opener will be Sept. 13 vs. Hastings.
