Sam Acheampong won the 100m dash and was part of a winning 4x100m relay team at Augustana's Vance Butler Invite.  Acheampong won his individual event in a school record time of 10.58, while the relay team also crossed the finish line in a school record time of 42.14.  Both finishes met national meet qualifying standards. 
Joining Acheampong on the 4x100 team was Jon Smith, Cecil Milton and Erik Lindsay.
 
Other top finishes for the Chargers included a second place finish by Lindsay in the 110m hurdles, a fifth place finish by Clay Pagels in the high jump, a fifth place finish by Milton in the 100m (11.08), a sixth place finish in the javelin by Jon Armstrong and a sixth place finish in the 4x400m (3:25.29).  Lindsay clocked a 15:08, just behind Augustana's Paul Mallory, who finished in a time of 15.07.  For Lindsay, it punched his ticket for yet another trip to nationals in the event.  Pagel cleared 6-06, breaking his own school record, while Armstrong's toss was 145-04.
