Kathy Myres, the assistant for eligibility, compliance and business operations within the BCU Athletic Department, received the school's Spiritus Franciscanus Award at a recent honor conovation.  The award is presented to a member of the university community who imitates and reflects the values and lives of St. Francis and St. Clare.

Myres has been active within the campus community; serving on the Franciscan planning team and as an officer for the university's staff group.  She is also a dorm floor "grandmother."

"Kathy truly embodies all the Franciscan core values," said Steve Gast, BCU Director of Athletics.  "She treats everyone with respect....she strives to remain positive and upbeat, encouraging those around her to be their better selves."

Myres came to Briar Cliff in 1991 and worked in several different departments around campus.  She began working full-time in the athletic department in 1996.  She currently oversees NAIA eligibility certification, athletic compliance, vehicle assignments, athlete insurance, preparation of reports for the NAIA, GPAC and the federal government and various other office management duties.  Myres volunteers her time to numerous events and causes and is active in her church.
