The BCU women's basketball team (28-7) will play conference rival Northwestern, at 8 p.m., tonight, in the semifinal round of the NAIA Div. II Women's Basketball National Championship, at the Tyson Event Center, in Sioux City. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students with an ID.  Tickets can be purchased at the Tyson Event Center Box Office.  The game will be broadcast on the Charger Sports Network (LISTEN) and locally on New 102 (102.3 FM).
The Chargers have won five of their last six games.  They average 86.8 ppg and are one of the highest scoring teams in the nation.  They also hold their opponents to 70.0 ppg.  The Chargers shoot 46.3 percent from the field and 33.4 percent from three-point land.  Liz Grider and Megan Salcedo lead the Chargers, averaging 25.9 and 12.6 ppg, respectively.  This is the Chargers' eighth national tournament appearance, but first since 2002.  The Chargers are 17-7 all-time in national tournament play, including a victory over Cardinal Stritch, Saturday night.  They have advanced to the quarterfinals six times.  This is the program's third fab four appearance. 
     
Northwestern is 29-5 on the season.  They have won seven of their last eight games, including a quarterfinal victory over Iowa Wesleyan, Saturday.  This is their ninth national tournament appearance and the sixth time they have advanced to the national semifinals.  They won national titles in both 2001 and 2008.  The Red Raiders average 83.3 ppg, while holding their opponents to 66.5 ppg.  They shoot 48.8 percent from the field, including 36.4 percent from beyond the arc.  Leading the Red Raiders has been Becca Hurley, who averages 16.2 ppg and leads the team in both assists and steals.  Kami Kuhlman (13.9 ppg), Kendra De Jong (13.9 ppg) and Randa Hulstein (13.2 ppg) round out Northwestern's double digit scorers.  Hulstein shoots 61.8 percent from the field and leads the team with 8.7 rpg.  The Red Raiders outrebound their opponents by 8.0 rpg.
