Second-seeded Northwestern registered a 94-75 GPAC semifinal victory over third-seeded Briar Cliff, in Orange City, Iowa.  The Red Raiders shot 53.2 percent from the field and outrebounded the Chargers by 15.
Northwestern shot 53.2 percent from the floor, 10.0 percent better than Briar Cliff.  They were also 8-21 from three-point land, compared to 2-14 for the Chargers.  Northwestern dominated the glass, 44-29.
 
The Chargers shot 43.2 percent overall and 14.3 percent from downtown.  The Chargers did force the Red Raiders into 28 turnovers, while comitting only 19 of their own.
 
The Chargers were playing without starting point guard Michelle Determan, who injured her ankle in shoot-around.  Megan Salcedo was nearly perfect for the Chargers, shooting 9-11 from the field.  She led the Chargers with a game-high 20 points, while Kylie Dilla added 15 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals.  Kelsey Evans chipped in 13 points, while Kela Cihak posted 12 points and a team-high seven rebounds.  Morgan Brown added five points, while Britney Below and Liz Grider each finished with four.  Grider was in early foul trouble, picking up her third halfway through the first half.  Her four points was a BCU career-low.  It was the first time this season that she did not reach double figures.  Christa Stewart rounded out the Chargers' offense with two points.
 
Northwestern was led by Becca Hurley and Allison Hulst, who each scored 14 points.  Val Kleinjan and Randa Hulstein each contributed 13.  Hulstein led the Red Raiders on the boards with 14.   
 
With the loss, the Chargers fall to 25-7 overall.  They have qualified for the NAIA National Tournament, which will be held March 10-16, in Sioux City.  Northwestern (26-4) advances to play Hastings in the GPAC Championship game, Tuesday.
