Southern Nazarene held off a late BCU rally to notch an 11-9 victory in a single, nine-inning contest.  The Crimson Storm outhit the Chargers by a slim 13-12 margin and improved to 8-1 with the win.  The Chargers, who will play a doubleheader against the Crimson Storm tomorrow, are now 0-5.
Southern Nazarene scored two runs in the bottom of the first and added another in the second.  Briar Cliff responded with a run in the fifth and three in the sixth.  When the Chargers plated a run in the seventh, they took a 5-4 lead.  The Crimson Storm then responded with five runs in the bottom of the inning.  After the Chargers failed to score in the eighth, the Storm added two more runs to take an 11-5 lead.  A Charger rally in the final inning produced four runs but came up short.
 
Jeremy Majeres led the Chargers, going 3-4 at the plate with a double, a pair of RBI and two runs scored.  David Kowal was 1-2 with two RBI, while Mitch Kurth went 1-4 with two RBI.  The Chargers got multiple hits from Majeres, Andrew Benton (2-4) and Travis Evgen (2-4).
 
Nick Hegge earned the start for the Chargers and threw 4.2 innings, giving up four runs on six hits.  He struck out five.  Craig Harris, Kasey Neumann and Beau Brown all saw action in relief, while Harris was handed the decision after allowing five runs on four hits in 1.1 innings of work.
