The Chargers led by as many as 14 and fought off a late Defender rally in posting a 76-75 victory at Dordt.  James Larson, who joined the starting line-up for the first time since Nov. 4, led the team with a season-high 20 points before fouling out with 5:41 remaining.
Dordt erased a 14-point BCU lead and took a 75-74 lead with 44 seconds to play.  A Matt Geelan lay-up, was then followed by a Dordt turnover and a pair of missed free-throws by Kyle Semprini.  Dordt grabbed the second miss with eight seconds on the clock and ran the floor.  The Defenders had two chances before time expired.

The Chargers, thanks in large part to the performance of Larson, outscored the Defenders, 36-18 in the paint.  Larson was 9-12 from the field.  Chase Vander Feen handed out a team-high five assists and tossed in 19 points.  Geelan scored eight of the team's final 10 points and finished with 14.  Ben Sitzmann and Semprini finished with nine and six points, respectively, while Mo Smeader, John Engler, Eric Rohe and Kyle Swanson all finished with a bucket apiece.

The Chargers shot 50.8 percent from the field, including 55.2 percent in the second half.  The Chargers connected on only six three-pointers in the contest, with four coming from Vander Feen.  The Defenders shot 51.1 percent from the floor and 55.6 (5-9) from three-point land.  The Defenders were 22-30 from the line, while the Chargers were 8-15.

Trevor Wolterstorff led the Defenders with 25 points and six rebounds, including an 11-12 performance at the charity stripe.  Brandon Oldenkamp was a perfect 3-3 from downtown, finishing with 11 points.  Logan Kingma had eight, while Michael Eekhoff, the squad's leading scorer, scored eight before fouling out with 9:09 left in the contest.  For the game, the Dordt bench bettered the Charger side, 30-8.

The Chargers snapped the Defenders' five-game winning streak and sent them to 14-9 overall and 6-8 in the GPAC.  The Chargers snapped a three-game slide and improved to 18-6 (9-4).
