Mon, Feb 1, 2010 | Women's Basketball
The Briar Cliff women's basketball team remained No. 4 in the NAIA Div. II Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll for the second straight week.  The Chargers did not move despite going 2-0 this past week, winning by an average of 42.5 ppg and having both the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the nation lose.
Hastings (21-3) became the top team in the country, despite an 80-72 loss at Morningside, Saturday.  Former No. 1 Davenport (21-2), which lost to unranked Cornerstone, 65-54, last Wednesday, slipped No. 2.  Cedarville (20-3) and Briar Cliff (21-3) held strong to their No. 3 and No. 4 rankings, respectively.  Aside from Hastings and Briar Cliff, two other GPAC teams are in the Top 25; Northwestern remained at No. 5 with a 19-3 record and Morningside climbed one spot to No. 12 with a 15-9 mark.  Concordia and Mount Marty continue to receive votes.

This week will be a big one for both Hastings and Briar Cliff.  The Broncos will play at Concordia, Wednesday before hosting the Chargers on Saturday.  BCU will play at Dordt, Wednesday.
