The Briar Cliff men's basketball team lost its third-straight game, 83-74, at Nebraska Wesleyan.  It's the first time since the end of the 2006-07 season that the Chargers have dropped three in-a-row.  The Chargers struggled shooting the ball again against the Prairie Wolves and were outscored, 44-22, in the paint. 

The Chargers shot 41.3 percent from the field including 31.3 percent from downtown and 63.2 percent from the line.  The Prairie Wolves were red hot hitting 55.8 percent of their shots, including 60.0 percent from downtown.
 
In the first half, the Priarie Wolves shot 60.0 percent from the floor, including 71.4 percent from three-point land.  That shooting performance helped the home team extend their lead to 46-33 at the break.  With 8:54 left to play in the game, the Prairie Wolves extended their lead to a game-high 23 points.  The Chargers then went on a 23-5 run, cutting the Nebraska Wesleyan lead to five points with 2:01 remaining.  The Prairie Wolves hit their free-throws down the stretch, going 7-11 in the final four minutes of the game.
 
Kyle Semprini led the blue and gold with 25 points, while Matt Geelan tossed in 14 and grabbed a team-high seven caroms.  For Semprini, it was his ninth 20-plus point performance of the season.  He knocked down seven three-pointers in the contest, pushing his season total to a GPAC-best 89.  Chase Vander Feen rounded out the Chargers' double digit scorers with 10 points.
 
Nebraska Wesleyan was led in scoring by Nick Dinan and Jim Lance, who scored 23 and 16, respectively.  Ryan Thramer added 12 points, while Bryce Arp contributed 11 and Jake Spurgeon finished with 10 points and a team-high nine rebounds. 
 
With the loss, NAIA No. 8 Briar Cliff slipped to 17-6 overall and 8-4 in the GPAC.  The Chargers, who shoot 48.8 percent from the field on the season, shot 40.7 percent in a 77-58 loss to Dakota Wesleyan, Wednesday, and 34.5 percent in a 64-62 loss at Concordia, a week ago.  Nebraska Wesleyan improved to 7-12 (5-7).  The Chargers will be in action again, Wednesday, as they play at Dordt.
