Today the GPAC Preseason Coaches' Poll was released, and Morningside College, the reigning GPAC champions, was picked to win the 2010 GPAC softball title. The Mustangs earned eight first place votes and totaled 139 points. Morningside had a strong season last year ending with a record of 34-21.
The Chargers are picked eighth in the GPAC with 80 points. Briar Cliff finished last year's season strongly by placing third in the conference tournament and ended at sixth place in the conference with a record of 12-10 in the GPAC and 22-19 overall.
The following is the complete GPAC Softball 2010 preseason coaches' poll: Morningside, Midland Lutheran, Hastings, Doane, Concordia, Dana, Nebraska Wesleyan, Briar Cliff, Dordt, Northwestern, Dakota Wesleyan, Sioux Falls, and Mount Marty.
The Chargers will open their 2010 season on February 21st at Peru State College. Their first GPAC game will be on March 9th at Dana.
