Liz Grider has been named the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Basketball Player-of-the-Week for the week of Jan. 18-24. Grider, a 5-9 senior from Chaska, Minnesota, averaged 28.5 points per game last week as the Chargers went 2-0. In an 85-75 home win over former NAIA No. 3 Northwestern, she scored 40 points on the night. For the week, she also averaged nine rebounds per game. She was 6-15 from three-point land on the week as Briar Cliff improved to 19-3 overall and 8-2 in league play.
On the season, Grider leads the nation in scoring, averaging 27.2 ppg.  She also leads the Chargers with 52 three-pointers, 76 assists and 69 steals.  She shoots 49.5 percent from the field and 42.3 percent from downtown.
 
The Chargers, who climbed up to No. 4 in the latest NAIA National Poll, will host Dakota Wesleyan, at 6 p.m., Wednesday.  The Chargers are 10-1 at home with their only loss coming to NAIA No. 2 Hastings, 91-81, Dec. 12.
