The Briar Cliff women's basketball team registered a
77-52 road victory over the Bulldogs of Concordia. For BCU, it was its their fifth-straight conference win. Morgan Brown and Liz Grider led the Chargers, who improved to 19-3 overall and 8-2 in the GPAC, with 17 points apiece. Megan Salcedo finished with a dozen, while Kylie Dilla added 10.
The Chargers jumped out to a 36-20 advantage at halftime. The Bulldogs shot only 22.6 percent in the opening half, while the Chargers shot 41.7 percent. For the game, the Chargers shot 41.8 percent overall and 50.0 percent from downtown. The Chargers were nearly perfect from the line, finishing 24-28. The Chargers forced the Bulldogs into 31 turnovers, while committing 27 of their own. The Bulldogs were held to only 27.1 percent for the game, including 20.0 percent (4-20) from three-point land.
Grider led the Chargers with nine rebounds and five assists. Michelle Determan scored seven points, while Britney Below scored six. Kelsey Evans finished with four points, while Likeisha Dotson and Christa Stewart had two points apiece.
Treva Nutter led the Bulldogs with 11 point and was the only Concordia player to reach double figures. Kristin Miller led the Bulldogs on the boards with seven, while Concordia was outrebounded, 43-40.
The Bulldogs are now 14-7 overall and 7-5 in the GPAC. The Chargers will be in action again, Wednesday, as they host Dakota Wesleyan.
