NAIA No. 7 Briar Cliff outscored No. 3 Northwestern, 58-42 in the second half, helping to register an 85-75 come-from-behind victory at the Newman Flanagan Center.  The win pushed the Chargers' record to 18-3 overall, 10-1 at home and 7-2 in the GPAC. 
After shooting only 31.4 percent from the field and trailing 33-27 at the break, the Chargers shot 52.9 percent from the floor in the second half.  Liz Grider scored 34 of her game-high 40 points in the second stanza.  She was 10-16 in the second half, after shooting just 3-13 in the first.  Grider also led the team with nine rebounds.  Morgan Brown was the only other Charger to reach double figures in the contest.  Michelle Determan scored nine points and had team-highs of nine assists and five steals.  For the game, the Chargers shot 42.0 percent, including 29.2 percent from three-point land.  The Red Raiders won the battle of the boards, outrebounding the Chargers, 48-43.
 
Northwestern shot 43.2 percent from the field, but only 15.4 (2-13) from three-point land.  The Red Raiders also struggled at the line, shooting only 52.9 percent.  Kami Kuhlmann led five Red Raiders in double figures with 18 points.  Two Raiders, Becca Hurley and Randa Hulstein registered double-doubles.  Hurley finished with 12 points, 11 rebounds and a team-high five assists.  Hulstein had 12 points and a team-best 13 rebounds.
 
With the win, the Chargers snapped the Red Raiders' nine-game winning streak.  Northwestern is now 17-3 overall and 8-2 in conference play.  This Saturday, the Chargers travel to Seward, Neb., to face the Bulldogs of Concordia.
