In the battle between a pair of NAIA Top 10 teams, Briar Cliff came out on top, toppling No. 7 Mount Marty, 93-78, at the Newman Flanagan Center.  Michelle Determan was outstanding for the 10th-ranked Chargers, posting a 21-point, 10-rebound double double.  Determan was close to a triple double as she handed out a game-high seven assists.

Liz Grider led the Chargers with 26 points and eight steals although foul trouble forced her to sit for an extended amount of time in the second half.  Megan Salcedo dropped in 17 points, while Morgan Brown finished with 14.  Only eight Chargers saw the court for BCU, but each of them scored.  Britney Below had eight, Kelsey Evans had four, Kela Cihak finished with two and Christa Stewart had one.

The Chargers shot 53.4 percent for the game and led by as many as 20 points in the second half.  The Chargers scored 36 points off of 26 Lancer turnovers.  Briar Cliff also dominated the boards, holding a 39-27 advantage.  The Lancers shot 50.0 percent from the field, but only 26.1 percent (6-23) from three-point land.  The Lancers entered the game as the conference's three-point leader.

Four Lancers reached double figures in the contest, paced by Michelle Amundson's 21 points.  Jenny Miller and Kylie Gross each contributed 13, while Cassie Neth tallied a dozen.  Neth pulled down a team-high six rebounds, while Amundson had seven of the team's 10 steals.  Amundson also turned the ball over nine times in the contest.

For the Chargers, it was win No. 16, pushing their overall record to 16-3 and their conference record to 5-2.  The Lancers, who have lost three of their last four, are now 14-4 overall and 5-3 in conference play.  The Chargers will return to the Newman Flanagan Center, where they are now 8-1 on the season, Saturday, as they host the Warriors of Midland Lutheran.
