Liz Grider has been named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Women's Basketball Player of Week and the Gunderson's Jewel of the Week.  During the week of Dec. 28-Jan. 3, the senior averaged 35.0 ppg and helped the Chargers produce a 2-1 record.
During the Briar Cliff Holiday Classic, Grider tallied 32 points against Central Methodist and 27 points against Viterbo.  In the win over CMU, Grider surpassed 1,000 points during her BCU career.  For her efforts she was named MVP of the classic.  Grider then exploded for a career-high 46 points in a 118-105 overtime loss at NAIA No. 3 Northwestern.  She was only three point away from a Briar Cliff single-game scoring record.

On the season, Grider leads the nation in scoring, averaging 28.2 ppg.  She also leads the Chargers with 56 assists, 51 steals and 37 three-pointers.  She is also second on the team with 5.4 rpg.  She shoots 52.1 percent from the field and 45.1 percent from three-point land.

Grider and the Chargers are currently 14-3 overall and 3-2 in the GPAC.  They will take to the court again, Saturday, when they play crosstown Morningside in this year's CNOS Classic at the Tyson Event Center.
