The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced its 2009 Daktronics-NAIA Volleyball Scholar-Athletes and for the second year-in-a-row six Chargers made the grade.
Senior Samantha Bock and Brittany Gentzler were among this year's 304 honorees across the nation.  For Gentzler, it is the second time she earned the award.  Joining Bock and Gentzler as 2009 selections were juniors Erin Gerdes, Nicole Hoogeveen, Chehala Pace and Rikole Santin.  Nominated by each institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved junior academic status to qualify.
