The 2009 GPAC All-Conference teams for men's soccer were released today as five Chargers made the honorable mention list.  The five Chargers receiving this honor were seniors Buddy Goodenkauf and James Bills and juniors Alex Witmer, Andrew Smith, and Matt Boubel.
The 2009 Charger soccer team had many strong contributors, but Goodenkauf, Bills, Witmer, Smith, and Boubel were all crucial leaders on the field.  Goodenkauf, a four-year starter in the BCU net, had 90 saves and allowed only 25 goals with a goals against average of 1.49.  Bills, a four-year staple for the Charger soccer program was a four-year starter and a leading mid-fielder with one goal for the season.  Witmer was one of the Chargers' best defenders and also added one goal on the season.  Smith, a forward, scored five goals, one being a game-winner, and handed out seven assists for a total of 17 points.  Boubel, a midfielder, scored a total of six goals and had four assists with a total of 16 points.  Boubel's strongest stat, however, was his four game-winning goals this season helping the Chargers out immensely.

The Chargers finished their 2009 season with a record of 9-9 and the team is expected to return all but five seniors next year.
