The Briar Cliff men's soccer team ended the 2009 regular season with a 2-1 double overtime loss to Upper Iowa. Tim McKean scored the lone goal for the Chargers on an assist from Andrew Knowles as they took a 1-0 lead into the half.
After a goal in the second half, the Peacocks scored the game-winner at the 101:38 mark. Kyle King suffered the loss in goal for the Chargers after making 16 saves. The Peacocks outshot the Chargers, 30-16 overall and 18-10 on goal. With the loss, their second in as many tries, the Chargers fell to 9-8, while the Peacocks are now 7-12-1. For the Chargers, it was their fifth one-goal loss of the season. The Chargerswill qualify for the GPAC Postseason Tournament and will most likely play on the road as the No. 6 or No. 7 seed. The tournament is scheduled to begin Nov. 3.
