Briar Cliff became only the second team to score a touchdown against Sioux Falls all season in a
41-8 loss at Memorial Field. The touchdown came late in the fourth quarter as Lehi Tonga hit Chase Colvin on a 27-yard touchdown strike.
Sioux Falls showed the Chargers why they are ranked #1 in the nation as they scored their first touchdown less than two minutes into the start of the game, and also scored 17 points off of three first half turnovers.
Tonga was 16-29 passing for 182 yards. Colvin led the Chargers' receivers with 7 catches for 108 yards. Stavhn Leavy led the Charger rushing attack with 26 yards on 9 carries.
The Charger defense was led by Jarrod Makovicka with a game-high 12 tackles, Calvin Christophersen added 8 of his own.
Sioux Falls was led by Jon Ryan with 5 catches for 89 yards and the first two touchdowns of the game. Quarterback Lorenzo Brown was 24-36 for 350 and had five touchdown passes.
Next week, the Chargers will travel to Mitchell, S.D. for a match-up with Dakota Wesleyan.
