Men's Soccer - Tue, Sep. 12, 2017

For the third-straight week the Briar Cliff men's soccer team has had one of its players named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. Prichard Sibanda, for the second time already this season, has been named the offensive player of the week after helping the Cliff earn a 6-2 road win at Avila last weekend. Sibanda's first player of the week honor was earned on August 29th in the opening week of the season.

Sibanda, the senior forward from Liverpool, England, racked up five of the team's six goals in the victory and added the assist on the other goal to give him 11 points for the game. The win pushed the Chargers to an overall record of 4-1 this season. Sibanda used only seven shots to score his five goals and now leads the Cliff in shots this season with 29 and 19 on goal for a shots on goal percentage of .655. He also paces BC in goals scored with 12 this season.

His stats don't just lead the Chargers, he also leads the nation in four different categories. Sibanda's 12 goals this year is tops in the NAIA, while his goals per game average of 3.0 is also the best in the country. His 12 goals and three assists gives him 27 total points this year, another best in the nation, and his 6.75 points per game is also number one in the NAIA.

Briar Cliff will look for its fourth-straight victory on Wednesday evening with a 5:30 p.m. kickoff at Bellevue, who is receiving votes in the top 25 poll.
