The Charger men's golf team sent three squads to the Morningside Invite today, played at the Whispering Creek Course. The first team for Briar Cliff finished in seventh, the second BC team placed eighth and the third Charger squad finished in 11th place. Team one carded a 335, unit two fired a 343 and squad three scored a 357.

Andrew Huntington led team one with an 82 to finish 14th. Both Erik Ingenluijff and Raul Perez Ruiz both fired an 84 and finished tied for 20th. Tavian Banks was the fourth finisher for team one, carding an 85 and Lucas Koster rounded out the scoring for the first team with a 90.

Brandon Schwade had the lowest score for Briar Cliff and was the best finisher for team two, firing a 78 and finishing in seventh place. Jarod Mau carded an 83 and finished tied for 17th. Connor Paulsen was the third finisher with an 86, trailed by AJ Miller carding a 96. Kyle Behrendt was the last golfer for team two and fired a 97.

Tyler Drey and Federico Acosta each turned in 87's to be the best finishers for team three. Bobby Beach-Pattison shot an 88 and was followed by Liam Mangan carding a 95. Mitchell Ruba rounded out the BC scoring with a 106.

Morningside won the tournament with a team score of 300. The Mustangs' Matt McGhee had the lowest score of the tournament with a 69 to finish in first place.

The Chargers will now turn their attention to the Blue River Classic on September 19th and 20th. Day one of the classic will take place at the Highlands Country Club and day two will be at the Wilderness Ridge Golf Course both in Lincoln, Nebraska.
