The Briar Cliff track and field teams split up to hit two different meets today with the throwers heading to Seward, Nebraska to compete in the Concordia Twilight Meet and the rest of the team went to Sioux Center, Iowa to compete in the Dordt Twilight Meet for one last shot at qualifying for the national meet. 

A trio of throwers all placed in the top 10 at Concordia with Dustin Peasley leading the group with a second place finish in the javelin with a toss of 52.36 meters and Sam Burki was seventh in the javelin with a heave of 49.04 meters. Kaylee Blake also finished in the top 10, placing eighth in the discus with a mark of 43.48 meters.

At Dordt, the men's 4x100 meter relay and 4x400 meter relay teams led the way with the Chargers with a pair of first place finishes. The 4x1 team of Chad Blank, Sage Lloyd, Matt Holzman and Tobe Ezimora finished in 43.39 for the top finish and the 4x4 squad of Josh Haning, Joe Heinrichs, Tommy Thelen and Tony Kollasch clocked a 3:34.47 for their first place finish. BC also owned the 1500 meter run with four runs finishing second through fifth with Thelen placing second (4:11.77), Heinrichs was third (4:16.66), Haning was fourth (4:17.17) and Kollasch was fifth (4:20.25). In the 400 meter dash, Blank notched a third place finish with a time of 50.17 and Sage Lloyd was fifth, crossing the line at 53.96. Ezimora was eighth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:12.22. Johanna Vaske was the only Charger to compete for the women's team at Dordt as she placed fourth in the long jump with a leap of 4.58 meters.

All of the Briar Cliff athletes that qualified for the NAIA Outdoor Championships will now be off until May 25-27 went the Chargers head to Gulf Shores, Alabama to compete at the national meet.
