The Briar Cliff track and field teams returned to Fremont, Nebraska today for day two of the GPAC Championships. Fourteen Chargers earned All-GPAC honors in their respective events on day two. The top eight finishers in each event are deemed all-conference.

Nick Harris set the tone, creating a new school record in the decathlon with 5345 points. Chad Blank notched the best finish of the day placing third in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.16. Sage Lloyd joined Blank in the 200 meters and finished in seventh place clocking a time of 22.40; Lloyd also competed in the 100 meter dash and earned an eighth place finish with a time of 11.15. Joe Heinrichs crossed the finish line with a time of 1:55.27 in the 800 meters for seventh place, while Tommy Thelen also notched a seventh place finish in the 1,500 meters running a time of 4:05.44. On the field, Trevor Westhoff launched the discus 47.09 meters for fifth place. Kaylee Blake was the top finisher for the women, creating a sixth place finish in the discus with a toss of 43.78 meters.

All three relay teams earned all-conference honors. The 4x100 men's relay of team of Blank, Lloyd, Matt Holzman and Tobe Ezimora clocked a team time of 42.40 for fifth place and the 4x400 men's relay team of Blank, Josh Haning, Heinrichs and Loyd finished seventh crossing the finish line at 3:20.28. The 4x100 women's relay team of Johanna Vaske, Cassidy Schwab, Beccy Dodunski and Jamie Jacobsen ran a time of 52.12 to finish eighth in the event.

The Charger track and field teams will now prepare for the Concordia Twilight Meet. Briar Cliff will head to the track on May 12th in Seward, Nebraska.
