The Charger women's golf team sits in first place after day one of the Northwestern/Dordt Invitational at the Landsmeer Golf Club in Orange City, Iowa. Briar Cliff finished day one of the two-day event with a score of 336. Four Chargers are tied for second place individually.
Taylor Minger, Nicole Hemelberg, Brooke Kroeger and Arianna Presilla each fired identical 84's on the day and are tied for second place as individuals at the invite. The four Chargers are currently one stroke behind Mikayla Christensen of Northwestern. Abby Brinkman carded an 85 to round out the Cliff scoring and is currently tied for eighth place as an individual.
BC had a second team also competing at the invite with Morgan Steele, Maisie Hurd, Allison Heineman and Lindsey Sorlie forming the second team with those Chargers currently in fourth place with a combined score of 359. Steele and Hurd tied for the team lead as both players shot an 88. Heineman turned in a score of 91 and Sorlie was one stroke back with a 92.
Briar Cliff has a four stroke lead over Northwestern heading into day two of the Dordt/Northwestern Invite at the Landsmeer Golf Club tomorrow.
