The Charger Sports Network (CSN) will be broadcasting tonight's Briar Cliff men's volleyball match against Dordt. Opening serve between the Chargers and Defenders is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Newman Flanagan Center. Click HERE for coverage links for the match.
Briar Cliff is 6-1 in the last seven contests and is currently sitting at .500 on the season. The Chargers are just outside the NAIA men's volleyball top ten and are receiving votes for the first time in school history. Dordt is 1-16 overall and has not won since January 28 of this year.
The Chargers swept (25-9, 25-21, 25-16) the Defenders in Sioux Center, Iowa, earlier this season. Peyton Schirman and Karson Cruz both notched 11 kills each, followed by Nate Saksa with eight and Jacob Ewart with seven. Enrique Barajas dished out 34 of the team's 35 assists and Schirman racked up four of the Cliff's seven service aces. Austin Gothier paced the Chargers with 10 digs, while Saksa recorded a game-high four blocks. Ben Tiemersma was the best Defender attacker with 10 kills and Danny Beaton was second with four K's. Tyler Postma handed out 15 assists and Mark Schussler accounted for eight digs.
