The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) released its all-conference softball team today and two Chargers were recognized on the second team.  Junior Camille Cruz and sophomore Tana Colt were both second team all-conference selections, while freshman Jessica Horton, junior Reagon Anthony and senior Amanda Arens and Tarah Colt earned honorable mention honors.
Cruz set a BCU single-season record with 208 strikeouts, eclipsing her total of 191 a season ago.  She also increased her career strikeout total to 533, another school record.  This past season, she posted a staff-best 2.32 ERA with a 13-13 record.  She threw 171 of the team's 277.2 innings.  Tana Colt hit .304 and led the team with 41 hits, 26 runs and 15 stolen bases.

Horton led the team with a .324 batting average.  She also had 33 hits, four doubles, two triples and 13 RBI.  Anthony hit .278 with 30 hits, including three doubles and three triples.  She also drove in 19 runs, second-most on the squad.  Anthony was also 7-4 on the mound with a 5.03 ERA and 35 strikeouts.  Arens was one of two Chargers to play in all 41 games.  She hit .310, while leading the team with six doubles, three homeruns and 26 RBI.  Tarah Colt batted .254 with 32 hits, 16 runs and 17 RBI.

The Chargers earned the sixth seed for this year's conference tournament and went 2-2.  They were one of the final three teams competing for this year's post-season crown.  The Chargers, in their first year under head coach Michelle Schaper, finished the season with a record of 22-19.  The 22 wins is the most for the program since the 2005 team went 26-28.
