Briar Cliff and Dakota Wesleyan entered the day with identical 10-6 conference records.  By the time the dust settled at BCU's Bishop Mueller Field, the Tigers had taken a pair of games from the Chargers, 6-1 and 4-3 (8) and edged closer to the top of the GPAC standings.  With the wins, Dakota Wesleyan improved their overall record to 28-11, while Briar Cliff slipped to 20-22.
In the opener, the Tigers produced two, three-run innings and held the Chargers scoreless until the bottom of the seventh.  The Tigers outhit the Chargers, 11-8.  Andrew Benton was the only Charger to record multiple hits on the day as he went 2-3.  Charlie Benz suffered the loss on the mound after allowing three runs on eight hits in six innings.
 
In the second game, the Chargers led 3-0 until the Tigers rallied for three runs in the top of the seventh inning.  In the eighth, the Tigers plated the game-winner and the Chargers failed to answer.  Chris Davis had multiple hits for the Chargers as he went 2-4.  Cody Davis and Jake Olivas also had RBIs for the Chargers.  Nate Olson pitched 6.1 innings, allowing only one run on three hits.  David Kowal and Craig Harris came on in relief and Harris suffered the loss.
 
Tomorrow, the Chargers will attempt to climb back to .500 as they play a make-up doubleheader at Doane.
