The Wayne State baseball team handed Briar Cliff a 12-5 setback today, at Wayne's Pete Chapman Complex.  The Chargers were held in check for most of the game, scoring four runs in the final two innings.
Louis Beare was the lone Charger to register multiple hits in the contest as he went 3-5 with a double and two RBI.  Tanner Oliver was 1-1 with a two-run homerun in the bottom of the eighth.  The Chargers were outhit, 13-9.  Nick Hegge took the loss on the mound, giving up nine runs on eight hits in the contest's first four innings.
 
With the win, the NCAA Div. II No. 28 Wildcats improved to 18-7 overall, while the Chargers slipped to 14-16.
