It was like a heavyweight title fight with each boxer giving it his all.  Briar Cliff and Dordt exchanged blows all night in a game which included 17 lead changes.  In the end, the Chargers came out on top, 88-83, winning their fourth-straight game.

The Chargers shot 56.4 percent from the floor and 55.0 percent (11-20) from beyond the arc.  In the second half, the Chargers hit 62.5 percent from the line.  The Chargers also won the battle of the boards, outrebounding the Defenders, 35-20.  Sophomore Chase Vander Feen led four double digit scorers for the blue and gold with 22 points.  Vander Feen was 6-8 from downtown, increasing his season total to a GPAC-best 90.  He is two threes away from breaking the school's single season record.  Senior Brett Ratcliff finished with 19 points, including a 7-7 performance from the line.  Sophomore Kyle Semprini chipped in 16 points in the win, while sophomore Matt Geelan tallied 15.  Senior Derek Mechaelsen finished with six points, while leading the Chargers on the glass with 10. 
 
The win helped Briar Cliff sweep the season series with Dordt and was the Chargers' third-straight victory in the series.  With the win, the Chargers improved to 22-6 overall and 13-4 in the GPAC.  Dordt is now 14-12 overall and 8-9 in the GPAC.
