The Chargers sent only a small number of wrestlers to today's Dana Open due to illness.  The open featured over 125 wrestlers from nearly a dozen schools, including the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the University of Nebraska-Omaha.  Of the five Chargers which competed, freshman Jeremy Garvin made the most of the experience, finishing fifth.
Garvin dropped his opening match, a 5-3 decision, to UNO's Nathan Sigman.  He then picked up a pair of wins over Brian May (HC) and Kendall Burke (DC) before suffering a 3-2 loss to eventual third placer DW Bradshaw of Missouri Valley.  In the fifth place match, he defeated Issaiah Sullivan, 23-8.

Freshman Sammy Johnson (165) went 2-2, including a pin of Hastings' Robert Rentfro in 4:59.  Freshmen Justin Hargrave (149), Gage Westbrook (174) and Jay Casey (285) all went 0-2.
