What a swing of fortunes. After suffering a 30-point road loss to the Red Raiders on Nov. 16, the 14th-ranked Chargers cruised past the No. 12 Red Raiders at the Newman Flanagan Center,
82-60. The Chargers shot 47.5 percent from the field and held the Red Raiders to only 31.0 percent, including 27.8 percent from beyond the arc.
Taylor Murren and Eric Rohe led the Chargers with 15 points apiece. Shipley was the only other Charger to reach double figures, finishing with 14. Brenton Brown handed out a game-high four assists and also collected a team-best four steals. Michael Collison pulled down a game-high nine caroms as the Chargers outrebounded the Red Raiders, 43-37.
The Red Raiders were led by Jacey Hoegh as he was the only one to reach double digits, racking up 10 points.
With the win, its sixth in a row, Briar Cliff improved to 16-6 overall and 10-3 in the GPAC, while Northwestern is 16-5 (9-4). The Chargers will be in action again, Saturday, at Dordt.
