The Chargers remained in a four-way tie atop the GPAC conference with a 78-67 road win over the Warriors of Midland. With the victory, the Chargers improved to 8-2 in the GPAC, equaling the mark of Concordia, Morningside and Northwestern.  Midland remains winless in the conference (0-10) and 7-12 overall.

Kylie Dilla led the 17-3 Chargers with 16 points, while Sara Reeves tossed in 11 and Kela Cihak had 10. Mattie Murren finished with nine points, while Christa Stewart had seven. Kelsey Evans, Megan Salcedo and Kristen Twait each had six points on the night. The Chargers shot 48.3 percent from the field, but only 21.4 percent (3-14) from beyond the arc. The Chargers forced the Warriors into 26 turnovers, while committing 20 miscues of their own. Midland's longtime coach complimented the Chargers following the game.

"They (the Chargers) look like a WNBA team when it comes to transition," said Midland coach Joanne Bracker.

The Warriors dominated the Chargers on the boards, 52-31, including 22 offensive caroms which helped keep Midland in the contest. There were five ties in the game and two lead changes, all of which came in the opening half.  The Warriors shot 37 percent from the field, including 25 percent (4-16) from three-point land.  Jamilah Johnson had a team-high 13 points, while Tricia Hoffman had a 10-point, 11-rebound double-double.  Mackenzie Pemberton finished with 11 points for the Warriors, while Jami Thramer had 10 and nine boards.

Despite the win, Briar Cliff coach Mike Power was not pleased.

"We were sloppy tonight and were not ready to play," said Power. "That is on me as the head coach. I have to do better."

Power will have plenty of time to think about this game as the Chargers are now idle until next Wednesday, when they host the Prairie Wolves of Nebraska Wesleyan.
